Geoffrey Paschel, 44, of Knoxville, was found guilty after a two-day trial, WBIR reported. In a news release Friday, the Knox County District Attorney’s Office said sentencing in the case will occur on Dec. 3. Judge Kyle Hixson revoked Paschel’s bond and ordered him into custody, according to WBIR.

Paschel could face a prison sentence between 12 and 20 years without parole, the television station reported. The district attorney’s office said in its news release that Paschel also had two federal drug trafficking convictions out of Texas, and a conviction in Blount County, Tennessee, for possession of a Schedule I controlled substance and possession with intent to sell Schedule II cocaine.

Paschel appeared during the fourth season of TLC’s “Before the 90 Days” in 2020, a spinoff of the “90 Day Fiancé” franchise, E! Online reported.

Knox County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call in Knoxville on June 9, 2019, WBIR reported. The victim told deputies Paschel had assaulted her at her home, the television station reported.

According to the victim, Paschel grabbed her by the neck and hit her head against the wall several times.

“She was also thrown to the ground and dragged. Paschel took the victim’s cell phone and did not allow her to leave the residence. The victim fled to a neighbor’s house after Paschel fell asleep,” the district attorney’s office said in its news release.

Officers said they saw a large, raised bruise on the victim’s forehead along with bruises and abrasions on her back, arms and the inside of her lip.

The woman was also diagnosed with a concussion.

At the trial, Paschel claimed the victim’s bruises were “self-inflicted,” WBIR reported.

During “90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days,” Paschel got engaged to Varya Malina but was not invited to attend the tell-all taping due to his legal problems, US magazine reported.

“I’m not sad that I wasn’t on it,” Paschel said during an Instagram Live session in June 2020. “The mentality of keeping me off the tell-all because somebody said something is the most absurd thing I’ve ever heard in my life.

“I want my court case to be over with, and as soon as my court case is over with, then my life will proceed.”
