Police told The Times-Picayune New Orleans Advocate they believe the victim is a woman who disappeared in December. Police served a warrant at Beale’s home while investigating the disappearance of Julia Dardar, the newspaper reported.

Police sources told WDSU the victim’s body was in a freezer inside a bus next to Beale’s home, and that the body was severely dismembered, her head chopped off, and many body parts were wrapped in plastic.

Police told WBRZ that Beale did not comply with their investigation, and was taken to the New Orleans Police Department for questioning, where he refused to provide a statement.

The Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office lists Beale as in custody as of Wednesday morning, facing weapons and drug charges, as well as obstruction of justice.
