The Journal of Archaeological Science reported that a “radiological examination” of a mummy that had been found in the royal tombs of Thebes discovered that it was the remains of a woman who had been pregnant when she died.

She was between 20 and 30 years old when she died and the baby was between 26 and 30 weeks of the pregnancy.

The journal said it was the first known case of an embalmed pregnant woman.

The mummy was in the collection of The National Museum in Warsaw, Poland, since 1917.

Originally they believed the remains were that of a man, but the newest scans showed a baby’s foot in the woman’s abdomen, according to the Polish Minister of Science and Education.
