Mitchell, 78, will perform with Brandi Carlile at the “Echoes Through the Canyon” concert scheduled for June 2023 at the Gorge Amphitheatre in George, Washington, Rolling Stone reported.

Mitchell made a surprise, unannounced appearance at the Newport Folk Festival earlier this year.

Carlile made the announcement Wednesday on “The Daily Show,” confirming that Mitchell appear on June 10, the second day of the two-day event, Variety reported.

“After Newport Joni said, ‘I want to do another show,’” Carlile told host Trevor Noah. “No one’s been able to buy a ticket to see Joni Mitchell play in 20 years,” Carlile noted, “so this is enormous, and she’s so excited because it’s close to Canada.”

“I can’t believe it’s happening, but it is happening, and she is going to crush it.”

Mitchell suffered a brain aneurysm in 2015 and has mostly stayed out of the limelight, CNN reported. Mitchell introduced Carlile at the annual Grammy Awards earlier this year, according to the cable news outlet.

Mitchell has been nominated for 17 Grammy Awards. Her 10 wins include a Lifetime Achievement Award, and she is a member of the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Her hits include “A Case of You,” “Big Yellow Taxi,” “Both Sides Now” and “Help Me.”

Tickets for the two nights go on sale to the general public on Oct. 28 at 10 a.m. PDT, Variety reported. More details can be found at www.brandicarlile.com/tour.

“Joni at Newport was historical,” Carlile wrote in an Instagram post on Thursday. “It reminded us all what is possible through the love of music.

“No one knew for sure what Joni would do … and no one ever knows for sure what Joni will do! It’s one of the things that makes her so sparkly and dangerously cool.”
