Police free 10-point buck trapped in soccer net

FRANKLIN, Mich. — A buck in Michigan was freed by two police officers after it got its antlers tangled in the netting of a soccer goal.

Officers Thomas Goodrose and Justin Wells approached the panicked animal Monday morning at Bingham Farms elementary Northwest of Detroit.

The two officers were able to restrain the deer’s hind legs while cutting away the netting from the antlers. The netting had also slipped around the animal’s neck, according to WXYZ.

“Once he had it secure, we came up slow. Held the horn and heard it breathe and relax. It felt really good. You don’t come across this too much but it was really cool,” Franklin Police Officer Thomas Goodrose told WXYZ.
