Woman whose dog attacked jogger reaches plea agreement that includes jail time

BEAVER COUNTY, Pa. — A woman whose dog attacked another woman jogging through an Ambridge neighborhood in July accepted a plea agreement Tuesday that includes jail time.

Jennifer Krummert was arrested and charged earlier this month after her dog severely bit Shannon Garvey several times on July 7 while Garvey was out jogging with her dog in Ambridge, police said.%

While in court Tuesday both sides reached a plea agreement, which includes six to 12 months of prison time for Krummert.

“I still have my bandages on. The drains are gone, and tomorrow I get my stitches and staples out,” Garvey told Channel 11 News outside of court Tuesday.

Prior to the acceptance of the agreement, Krummert had several outbursts inside the courtroom.

“I'm not guilty. This is my life,” Krummert said. “I'm not taking the deal.”

Moments later, she accepting the plea agreement, saying, “Just give me it.”

“I'm going to jail for six months over an accident,” Krummert later said.

Garvey said she’s satisfied with the agreement.

“I just tried to not look at her,” Garvey said. “I guess I can say that I'm satisfied with this agreement.”
