WPXI's Holiday Parade features celebrities, floats, balloons

Superstar celebrities, fabulous floats, marvelous marching bands and behemoth balloons were featured as WPXI presented the 33rd annual Holiday Parade on Nov. 30.

WPXI brought the parade right into Pittsburghers’ living rooms in high definition, and parade fans lined the sidewalks of 5th Avenue to watch in person.

Shining stars on 5th Avenue included parade grand marshal & star of NBC’s “Days of Our Lives," Eric Martsolf, who plays Brady Black.  70’s hit recording artist, Peter Rivera, of Rare Earth, famous for the hit “I Just Want To Celebrate,” also performed.

Joining them were winner of Season 6 of NBC’s “America’s Got Talent," Landau Eugene Murphy, Jr., Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver, Emmanuel Sanders, and Carly Patterson, Olympic gold medalist gymnast.

The stars of Great American Country’s “Farm Kings," also made appearances.

Gigantic balloons of Strawberry Shortcake, Pajanimals, Calliou and Yogi Bear were in the parade.  Several maching bands, decorated floats and Santa Claus kept the tradition alive.

David Johnson, Peggy Finnegan, Lisa Sylvester and Alby Oxenreiter hosted the parade.

An encore presentation of the parade will air on WPXI on Dec. 24 from 2-4 a.m. and Dec. 25 from 5-7 a.m.  It will also air on PCNC Dec. 25 from 7-9 a.m.
