BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Officials with the USFL announced that all games will be played in Birmingham, Alabama.

A news release said the games will be played at Protective Stadium, the recently christened 45,000-seat downtown home of The University of Alabama at Birmingham Blazers. A number of games will also be played at Legion Field.

Tickets for the inaugural game between the Generals and Stallions are now on sale. All general admission tickets are $10.

NFL, Fox to air inaugural game in prime time

The inaugural game is scheduled to be simulcast on both NBC and FOX at the same time, making it the first sporting event to air at the same time on two competitive networks since Super Bowl 1 aired on NBC and CBS in Jan. 1967.

NBC Sports will provide pregame, halftime and postgame coverage of the game. FOX Sports will produce the game coverage using its broadcasters, production and technical staff.

The eight-team league will hold a player selection meeting Feb. 22-23, and training camps will open March 21.
