Eat'n Park Band of the Year: Norwin

The 2014 Eat'n Park Band of the Week contest took place every week during the regular football season.

The nine weekly winners were entered in the Band of the Year contest.

And the winner is ... NORWIN!

Weekly winners:

Week 1:  Freedom

Week 2:  Greensburg Salem

Week 3:  Canon-McMillan

Week 4:  Norwin

Week 5:  West Allegheny

Week 6 (City League, WPIAL AAAA):  Hempfield

Week 7 (WPIAL AAA):  Albert Gallatin

Week 8 (WPIAL AA):  South Allegheny

Week 9: (WPIAL A)Bentworth

Rules:

The winning band will be featured on WPXI-TV during Skylights at 11:15 p.m. on Fridays and WPXI.com.

No purchase necessary. To be eligible to vote, users must be at least 13 years of age.

Voting will begin on Monday afternoons and wrap up at noon on Fridays.  Exception: Monday, Sept. 1 is Labor Day, so voting will start on Tuesday that week.

The school with the most votes wins.

You can vote 20 times per hour.

Every school in the WPIAL and Pittsburgh City League will have a chance to win the Band of the Week.  Weeks 1-5 will include schools on WPXI's Skylights schedule.  Week 6's contest will include City League and WPIAL AAAA schools.  Week 7's contest will include WPIAL AAA schools.  Week 8's contest will include WPIAL AA schools.  Week 9's contest will include WPIAL A schools.

The nine weekly winners will be entered in our Band of the Year contest, which will start on Oct. 27 and end on Nov. 14.  The winner will be invited to perform at 2015 Skylights Media Day and receive a plaque.

A band can only win the Band of the Week contest once during this year's football season.
