In a new logo debuted by the team, the red bandana is worn over his face as a mask “to promote safe social health practices," according to a news release.
Team officials said the logo is available on new shirts fans can buy online. All net proceeds will directly benefit Pirates Charities’ local COVID-19 efforts.
Shirts are available in sizes S - XXL for $25, plus shipping.
Pirates Charities has worked to donate money to organizations such as the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, hosted food distribution events and delivered boxed lunches to local shelters. The program also donated $100,000 to the University of Pittsburgh’s Center for Vaccine Research.
