Pirates host season’s first Sunday Kids Day

PITTSBURGH — The Pirates are welcoming back families with the season’s first Sunday Kids Day at PNC Park with fun on Federal Street.

The event included in-game activities, special concessions and more as part of (Re)Opening Weekend.

This marks the first of seven remaining Kids Days at PNC Park, and all kids 14 years and under will receive Pirates sunglasses, presented by AHN, as they enter the ballpark.

The day started with fun on Federal Street with the return of the Kids Zone pregame, stretching from General Robinson Street to the Clemente Bridge and included an inflatable batting cage, speed pitching, a Pirate Parrot bounce house, face painters, caricaturists and more.

Inside the stadium, the reopening of the STEM Zone, an interactive playground located inside the Right Field Gate, was featured.

Earlier this season, the Pirates introduced the expansion of the kids’ concession offerings found at the Bucaroos kids’ concession area. Now, the club announces the opening of the original location in Legacy Square. The concession stand has been inoperable due to protocols, but now Pirates concessionaire Aramark will once again serve from the location.

Bucaroos is a family-focused concessions concept in which several stands will be found throughout PNC Park to ensure more access points for families each game.
