16 teams will make the playoffs this season and the National League will use the designated hitter. There is a ‘man on second’ rule that goes into effect in extra innings.
Despite all the changes this season, manager Derek Shelton said the emotions are coming as we approach first pitch.
“I’m feeling good. I don’t know if they’ll hit till we get out on the field. I don’t know if they’ll hit until first pitch. At least the preparation and all the work getting here is where I’m at right now, but at some point tonight I’m sure it’ll be emotional,” Shelton said.
