PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Penguins goalie Casey DeSmith has a new helmet featuring a much loved character from “The Office.”

The design features Dwight Schrute and was created by teammate Teddy Blueger.

During a news conference earlier this week, DeSmith said Blueger commented his mask was too generic. DeSmith then challenged Blueger to create a better one and the design was born.

“The process was a little different than I though. I told him the ideas I had, a rough outline. There was some stuff on there I did half-jokingly. I didn’t know if he would actually put it in there,” Blueger said about the mask.

The Penguins face off against the Calgary Flames Thursday night.
