Ones to Watch: April Ross, beach volleyball

TOKYO — Beach volleyball is a fan favorite at the Olympic Games and April Ross is one to watch on Team USA.

“It’s just such a cool thing to go out there and do the best you can for yourself, your team and your country,” Ross said. “I think literally that’s what motivates me everyday and I visualize it, even when I’m trying not to visualize it, I picture being at the Olympics and it gets me all fired up.”

Ross won a silver medal in the 2012 Olympics and bronze in 2016.

This year, she’s playing with Alix Klineman, who is considered a breakout star.

Beach volleyball starts on the first day of the Tokyo Olympics, July 23.
