TOKYO — Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant is trying to get his third Olympic gold medal. He was Team USA’s leading scorer in the 2012 and 2014 games.
Durant might be well-known, but his coach is also a big name in the basketball world: Villanova’s Jay Wright.
“When you first show up and it’s Kevin Durant and Dame Lillard and all these guys, you say, ‘This is pretty cool.’ These guys are veterans, professionals and they’re so committed to their craft. They’re so intelligent in terms of their basketball IQ,” Wright said.
There’s no Lebron James or Steph Curry on the team this year, but Durant does have some big-time teammates. That list includes Dame Lillard, Devin Booker and Jayson Tatum.
