HERSHEY, Pa. — Star quarterback Phil Jurkovec led Pine-Richland to a dominant 41-21 victory over St. Joseph's Prep in the PIAA Championship Game Saturday.
Jurkovec had five total touchdowns in the victory, including four rushing and one passing score.

Pine-Richland led St. Joseph's Prep, 14-7, at halftime of the 6A state title game in Hershey, Pa., but the Rams quickly took a hold of the game in the third quarter.

The snow-covered field in Hershey led to several fumbles by both squads, but Pine-Richland overcame the obstacles to capture the state title.
It is the first state title in the history of Pine-Richland's football program.
