Stray shower possible on Saturday after fog clears; waves of storms expected on Sunday

WPXI - Fog over the city

PITTSBURGH — It’s a foggy start to the day, especially from Pittsburgh and south, where visibility is close to zero in spots. Fog will linger through about 9 or 10 a.m., with a mix of clouds and sun expected the rest of the day.

A stray shower can’t be ruled out today, but the bulk of the rain this weekend will come on Sunday.

The first wave of rain and thunder will move through in the early morning, with heavy pockets of rain expected before sunrise. Scattered showers and storms should be expected for the afternoon and evening. And while there will be many breaks in the rain, storms that develop late will be capable of producing gusty winds and additional heavy rain.

Spotty showers are expected Monday ahead of a cold front, but additional rainfall amounts won’t be heavy. Pleasant and less humid weather is expected Tuesday ahead of another round of showers late-day Wednesday.
