Strong storms move through area Saturday

PITTSBURGH — UPDATE 7:39 p.m.: Steelers Vs. Chiefs preseason game will start at 8:30 p.m.

UPDATE 7:16 p.m.: A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for parts of Allegheny, Armstrong and Westmoreland counties until 7:45 p.m.

UPDATE 7:05 p.m.: The Steelers preseason game vs. the Chiefs has been delayed due to severe weather.

No official kickoff time has been set.

The field and lower bowl of Heinz Field have been cleared.

UPDATE 5:37 p.m.: Heinz Field officials are telling all fans to leave the seating area and move inside due to incoming weather.

UPDATE 5:04 p.m.: A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Armstrong, Butler, Clarion and Venango counties until 5:45 p.m.

UPDATE 4:06 p.m.: A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for Armstrong, Butler, Indiana,  Lawrence, Mercer and Venango counties until 8 p.m.

UPDATE 3:30 p.m.: A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for parts of Mercer and Venango counties until 4:15 p.m.

Fantastic weather tonight to close out the last weekend of July.

The work week starts off warm and a bit humid with a chance of a stray shower or storms again later in the day. Heat index values may reach near 90 degrees Monday with actual temperatures in the upper 80s.
