‘Jeopardy!’ returns to production next week, announces plan for host following Alex Trebek’s death

CULVER CITY, Calif. — Following the death of beloved long-time host Alex Trebek - who died this month after a battle with pancreatic cancer - Jeopardy! will start production again next Monday.

A permanent, or long-term replacement, host hasn’t been named yet, so the show will be bringing on interim guest hosts starting with new episodes in January 2021.

Ken Jennings, who holds the all-time records for most consecutive games won and highest winnings in regular-season play, will be first interim guest host.

The show will honor Trebek by airing 10 of his best episodes the last two weeks of this year. The last week of episodes Trebek filmed will air the first week of January.

Jeopardy! airs on Channel 11 weekdays at 7 p.m.
