The car hit an embankment and a stone wall.

Kyler Catlett, 17, of Smithfield, and Yolanda Jackson, 17, of Uniontown, died at the scene. Catlett was the driver, and all three teens were wearing seatbelts.

"She was gone too soon and had her whole life ahead of her," said Jessica Brosky, Jackson's sister.

Keristen Harris, 16, of Uniontown, who was in the back seat of the car,  was alert following the crash and complaining of back pain, authorities said.

She was flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, where she was listed in serious condition.

Jackson and the surviving victim attended Uniontown High School, according to school principals Heather Sefcheck and Robert Manges, who released the following statement:

"This is a difficult time for our students, staff and school community as we are dealing with the tragic events that have occurred.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and friends of these young people, while we also honor and respect the privacy of each family."

All three victims worked at the McDonald's in Uniontown.

"They were nice, good kids," co-worker Richie Williams said. "I couldn't believe this was happening when I heard the news."

Principal Jason Hutchinson of Albert Gallatin High School told Channel 11 News that Catlett was a member of the varsity cheer squad and dance team.

"(He was a) very vibrant young man. (He was) well-liked, well-rounded, talented," he said.

Following the accident, flowers marked the spot with the two lives were lost in the crash.

"I'm going to miss Kyler and Yolanda a lot," said Jessica Lowry, Catlett's best friend. "He never sped that fast. Never. Maybe over 5 or 10, but it's never been 100 miles per hour."

Counselors will be available at both schools for grieving classmates and staff.

A GoFundMe page has been set up for Jackson's family.
