Burglary suspect arrested in Franklin Park; search for accomplice continues

McCANDLESS, Pa. — One man was arrested after an active search for a burglary suspect in Franklin Park early Thursday.

Investigators said a man and a woman broke into the Walgreen’s in McCandless at about 2 a.m. and stole prescription drugs.

At some point, they ditched their car and took off on foot. The car was found running on Fairmount Church Road, and a shoeless man was arrested on Big Sewickley Creek Road shortly before 6 a.m.

The man's name was not immediately released.

Officers from several departments also searched a wooded area near Wexford Bayne Road overnight, across the street from Dragun’s Landscaping.

The woman was not immediately located.
