The high school is following the guidance from the Pennsylvania Department of Health and Department of Education and will close for four days. The district said it is working with the health department and implementing the following steps:
- The individuals will not return to our school until they have completed isolation procedures for COVID-19.
- The impacted areas of our school will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
- Students and staff members, who are considered close contacts (any individual within 6 feet of an infected person for at least 15 minutes), will receive a personal contact by the Department of Health or district designee.
In-person learning will resume at the high school Sept. 8. In-person learning will continue at all other schools in the district.
The district also said a person has a presumed positive case of COVID-19 at McMurrary Elementary School and are implementing the following steps:
- The individual will not return to our school until he/she has completed isolation procedures for COVID-19.
- The impacted areas of our school have been thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
- Students and staff, who are considered close contacts (any individual within 6 feet of an infected person for at least 15 minutes), will receive a personal contact by the Department of Health or District designee.
If there is a second confirmed case of COVID-19 at McMurrary Elementary School prior to Sept. 14, the district said the school could close for up to 5 days per Health Department guidance.
