Beechview Grocery Store Owner Takes Matters Into Own Hands After Robbery

PITTSBURGH,None — A small grocery store in Beechview robbed at knife point, and now the store's owner is taking matters into his own hands.

Tienda La Jimenez, a Mexican Grocery along Broadway Avenue, was robbed last week. Police said the robber got away with an undisclosed amount of money.

The owner posted his own wanted poster of the robber.

According to police, the man is 6 feet tall with a goatee.

Business owners and people living nearby are worried about the bold crime.

"We do have an alarm system at night. I don't think anything else will change around here. I can't put a fence around the parking lot," said George Contis of G.C. Auto.

"I'm only half a block away, and that does concern me. They have to make steps to get up to my place, but I don't think they'll do that. They want a quick way in and out," said neighbor Gerardo Santoro.

If you have any information about the robbery, you're asked to call police.
