Bride-to-be victim of Mt. Washington break-in; Jewelry her fiancée gave her stolen

PITTSBURGH — A bride-to-be talked to Channel 11 on Monday about a recent break-in at her Mt. Washington home.

Nicole Carfang, 22, said someone broke into her Plymouth Road home and stole jewelry her fiancée, a Marine, gave her.  Her Duquesne class ring and other items were stolen, she said.

"These were all things that marked certain points in my life.  They are now gone," she said.

Carfang lives with her best friend.  Last week, she and her friend came home to find the back door open and the place ransacked.

This is the third break-in in the neighborhood within the past week.

Carfang's family has been calling pawn shops in hopes of finding her stolen jewelry.
