PITTSBURGH,None — Police are investigating after shots were fired near UPMC Mercy Hospital Thursday afternoon.
Investigators said security personnel at the hospital heard multiple shots fired at about 1 p.m.
No one at the hospital was injured, but police later found a bullet had penetrated a window of an occupied patient room. The patient wasn't injured and hospital officials immediately moved the person to another room.
Police said shell casings and fragments were found along the Boulevard of the Allies, and shell casings were found inside the patient room.
The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
