PITTSBURGH — Five Pennsylvania cities, including Pittsburgh, were ranked among U.S. News and World Report’s 50 best places to retire.
The latest list from U.S. News and World Report ranked Lancaster at No. 5 overall. The ranking places the South Central Pennsylvania city among several of Florida’s retirement hotspots, including Sarasota (No. 1), Fort Myers (No. 2) and Port St. Lucie (No. 3). Florida had 13 cities listed in the top 50 best places to retire this year, the most of any state.
Lancaster fell two spots from it’s No. 3 ranking last year. According to the report, Lancaster’s mix of rural and suburban areas, tight-knit community and variety of businesses helped propel it to a top spot again this year.
