Alcoa to sell part of facility that employs more than 1,000 workers

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh-based Alcoa Corp. will sell its rolling mill business to Kaiser Aluminum Corp. in a $670 million deal, according to a news release.

The rolling mill business is located at the company’s Warrick Operations, a manufacturing site near Evansville, Indiana, according to the news release. Its 1,170 employees will become employees of Kaiser Aluminum.

Alcoa will maintain ownership of other elements of the facility, including the smelter and electric generating units, which employ about 660 workers.
