PITTSBURGH — After two years of pursuing the project and more than 10 in which it was on a master plan for the larger site, Alpha Capital Partners is approved to go forward with building a new 416-unit apartment project in South Fayette.

The project, called Apex Newbury, was approved by the township last week for a 37-acre site on Presto-Sygan Road in what will be the first multifamily development in South Fayette, a fast-growing community that’s been adding lots of residents but has long been delayed in filling out the master plan of its Newbury Market site.
