PITTSBURGH — Galley Group, which opened its Smallman Galley with a splash five years ago by introducing a new business to the city of showcasing a collection of chefs running their different restaurant concepts under one roof, is working through major cut backs that could include the closing of its original location.
The owner of the property in which Smallman Galley first opened in 2015 reports the food hall operator allowed its lease extension to expire at the end of February and he is seeking a replacement for when the full lease term ends in six months.
This comes as reports indicate that Galley Group abruptly closed its Fort Street Galley in Detroit and its Ohio City Galley near Cleveland late last week after closing the food hall it operated in Chicago with little advance notice in November.
