New bank coming to Pittsburgh via $105M acquisition as Farmers make a deal

PITTSBURGH — A pair of Farmers have struck a deal.

Farmers National Banc Corp. of Canfield, Ohio, is acquiring Emclaire Financial Corp. of Emlenton. They jointly announced the transaction on Thursday morning.

Emclaire has been building its presence in the Pittsburgh area — it is the holding company for The Farmers National Bank of Emlenton. Five of its 19 branches are within the 10-county metro. Emlenton is about 80 miles northeast of Pittsburgh.

The retail arm of the acquirer, Farmers National Bank of Canfield, has assets of $4.1 billion and operates 47 branches, mostly in Ohio. Farmers said in the release that it has a presence in Beaver County.
