PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh has the shortest public transit commute time of any other city in the country for the second year in a row, according to a new study from Moovit Inc., an Israel-based journey planning platform owned by Intel Corp. The study analyzed millions of trip requests performed globally in 2020 and also collected insights on how Pittsburgh residents and those from other cities are traveling amid the pandemic.

According to the study, Moovit found that Pittsburgh riders have an average public transit commute time of 43 minutes, up slightly from the 39-minute average seen in 2019. The U.S. city with the highest public transit commute time went to Miami, Florida, which on average took 58 minutes to complete last year, Moovit reported.
