Those wishing to travel south to Florida in the spring and summer of 2021 will have a new option to do so via a new flight scheduling from Southwest Airlines Co. The company said it plans to offer weekly direct flights from Pittsburgh International Airport to Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport starting on March 13.
Allegiant Air Inc. currently offers the same flight four times per week according to Blue Sky News, a publication of the Pittsburgh International Airport.
On Dec. 4, Southwest announced plans that would potentially result in the furloughs of nearly 7,000 employees across the country.
