Temporary branch closures at more Pittsburgh banks due to Covid-19

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh’s biggest bank said Friday it “occasionally” has to temporarily close branch locations due to staffing shortages triggered by Covid-19.

PNC Financial Services Group Inc. did not disclose how frequently or where this has occurred, nor the impact of the rapidly spreading omicron variant.

Dollar Bank, the nation’s largest mutual and Pittsburgh’s seventh-biggest bank by market share, was more forthcoming.
