PITTSBURGH — The disappearance of a Highland Park woman who told her roommate she was stepping out to make a phone call remains unsolved 26 years later.
Terry Slaugenhoupt, 28, was last seen on the night of January 6, 1991, when she returned to her apartment after a date with an unknown man, according to NBC News. She then went outside, telling her roommate she was leaving to make a phone call, which was not unusual.
Slaugenhoupt never returned home.
Pittsburgh police collected DNA samples from Slaugenhoupt's relatives and compared them to unidentified bodies across the country, NBC News reported. No matches were found, and little information about Slaugenhoupt's disappearance was ever uncovered.
Pittsburgh police spokeswoman Sonya Toler told NBC News that the most recent activity related to the search happened in November of last year.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police at 412-323-7800.
