CHARLEROI, Pa. — Police responded to a domestic incident involving a paraplegic woman and her boyfriend.
Officers kicked down the couple’s door after hearing the woman inside, screaming for help.
“She can’t defend herself in any way,” said neighbor Victoria Mace. “I definitely would have been the first to kick in the door if I heard something.”%

According to police, the suspect, John Koster Jr., had been drinking when they got into an argument.

According to Charleroi Police Chief Eric Porter, the victim was struck in the face and unable to call for help on her own.
“I’ve never thought in my life he would be like that. He’s always so kind to her,” Mace said.
