PITTSBURGH,None — Crews began tearing down the Reed Roberts apartment complex in Pittsburgh's Hill District on Monday.
In December, city inspectors visited the section 8 housing complex after residents complained about deplorable conditions.
Inspectors said they found dangerous conditions, including stairs that were ready to collapse.
The city building codes inspection office and the district attorney's office used the findings to obtain a court order that allowed them to demolish the complex and place residents in alternative housing.
