Flood Waters Damage New Cars At West Mifflin Dealership

WEST MIFFLIN, Pa.,None — Officials with Century III Chevrolet in West Mifflin said Monday's storms damaged over a dozen vehicles.

Heavy flooding was reported along Lebanon Church Road and caused water damage to 13 brand-new Malibu models, officials said.

There was too much water flowing too fast for the storm drains to handle, and some cars got flooded, officials said.

Inside the cars, floor mats were floating in water, and the seats got soaked. The water even got high enough to fill the water cup holders, according to Channel 11 News reporter Vince Sims.

General Manager Gary Lee said the cars are being evaluated Tuesday.

"Basically, we'll bring each car up here and have a certified mechanic go through each car, look for any damage," said Lee. "If there is any damage at all, we'll send them back to the insurance company."

In the meantime, Lee said the dealership has plenty of other Malibus in stock, so business won't be affected.
