BALTIMORE — A former player for the Pittsburgh Steelers is accused of abandoning his dog at a kennel in Baltimore.
According to WBAL, Chris Kemoeatu moved back to Hawaii but did not take the dog, named Zeus, with him.

The dog has been at Pooches and Purrs kennel for nine months. The kennel’s owners told WBAL they are owed more than $9,000, and they said Kemoeatu told them he would return for the dog three weeks ago.
He never showed up. Several people have asked about adopting the dog, but Kemoeatu told the kennel’s owners not to give him away.
"I know he had some medical issues so I was trying to be understanding, but I mean he's just taking advantage completely," owner Renee Mason said.
Kemoeatu and his brother Ma'ake made headlines last year when Ma'ake, who played for the Baltimore Ravens, donated one of his kidneys to Chris.
Messages left for Kemoeatu by WBAL were not immediately returned.
