WANGARATTA, AUSTRALIA — A fast-growing tumbleweed known as the 'Hairy Panic' is overtaking a small Australian town.
As winds pick up, the wild tumbleweed has completely covered properties, gardens and garages in Wangaratta.
The tumbleweed has been around for a couple of years, but the dry conditions have made this summer the worst.
Local media reported that residents suspect the tumbleweed is coming from a nearby field that a farmer has failed to maintain.
The local council has refused to help homeowners with the cleanup as the weeds are not considered a fire risk, so residents have been forced to clear it up themselves.
