Sick children at a hospital in Brisbane, Australia, hospital got a heartwarming surprise visit Tuesday from Capt. Jack Sparrow himself, Johnny Depp.

According to the Australian Broadcasting Corp., the "Pirates of the Caribbean" star took a break from filming the latest movie in the franchise to cheer up patients at Lady Cilento Children's Hospital. The 52-year-old actor, decked out in full pirate gear, even took selfies with many of the young fans.

Rachel Bennett was with her 7-year-old son, Max, who spoke to Depp.
"[Depp] was going from room to room seeing all the kids who couldn't get out of bed," Bennett told ABC.
Max said meeting the star of his favorite films made his day.

"He was funny. ... He tied a knot in his hair to make a beard; that was my favorite part," Max said.

Bennett called Depp's gesture "really beautiful."
"He came on the condition that he wasn't pushed along and crowded by adults, and he could spend as much time as he wanted with the kids," she said. "He was here for the kids."
