Iowa police release body camera video of fatal shooting

URBANDALE, IOWA — Authorities in Iowa have released dramatic video of a deadly officer involved shooting.

The incident, caught on officers' body cameras, unfolded last February inside a hotel lobby in Urbandale.

Police were responding to a report of drug use at the hotel.

As they were questioning two women and a man, the women took off running outside.

When the man tried to do the same, he shoved an officer.

One of the officers wrestled the man to the ground.

He refused to show them his hands, keeping one tucked underneath himself.

That's when he fired a shot at the officers.

Officers returned fire killing the man, who turned out to be tied to a murder investigation.

The three officers involved in the incident were cleared of any criminal charges on Wednesday.
