PITTSBURGH — For parents around the world, priority number one is to provide safety for their children.
So when Kelly Robie, a mother of four, saw that 5 million Graco strollers were recalled back in 2010, she took action the best way she could; by helping to get their off of the streets.
Robie is also the organizer of the Just Between Friends consignment sale in Coraopolis. In an effort to pull the strollers off of the market, Just Between Friends is offering a special buy back for the hazardous Graco strollers.
“We would see them come to our consignment and we would pull them because they couldn’t be sold,” Robie said.
Three models of Graco strollers have been recalled and their repair kits have been discontinued. The three models are the Graco Alano, Passage and Spree strollers.
The strollers have been recalled because of fingertip laceration or amputation risks in areas easily accessible to children.
When customers bring a stroller in, Just Between Friends will provide a $25 gift certificate for each stroller to spend at the sale. From there, the stroller will be sent off to Graco for repair.
Just Between Friends' spring sale is open Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information on the sale, vist their website.
