MONONGALIA COUNTY, W.Va. — Several people were injured in a boating accident Monday evening in West Virginia.
According to Channel 11's news exchange partners at TribLIVE, a boat crashed into the shore at Cheat Lake in Monongalia County shortly after 9 p.m.

Three people were flown to the hospital. Nine others were taken to the hospital by ambulance.
WBOY reported that all patients were alert and talking. An investigation is underway.
A spokesman for the Department of Natural Resources told Channel 11 there was an additional accident on the Ohio River this weekend as well, although it wasn’t as serious as the one on Cheat Lake.
