15-year-old dies after being hit by car while riding his skateboard in Ingram

ALLEGHENY COUNTY, Pa. — A 15-year-old boy who was hit by a car while riding his skateboard in Ingram last week has died.

According to an update from his family, Charlie Thornburg died Monday.

Charlie was a freshman at Montour High School. His obituary said he loved skateboarding, cooking, music, and reading. He was also an avid Star Wars fan.

He was hit by a car while riding his skateboard at the intersection of Winlock Avenue and Joel Street.

The driver stayed on scene. Allegheny County police have not said if any charges will be filed but told Channel 11 they are still investigating.

“He’s a nice little kid. I feel sorry for his mom and dad,” said Pat McKee, a neighbor.
