Attempted abduction reported in Greenfield

PITTSBURGH — Police in Pittsburgh's Greenfield neighborhood are asking residents to be on alert after a reported attempted abduction.

Investigators said the incident happened around 9 p.m. Wednesday on Rosalia Place.

Two girls, ages 9 and 10, told officers they were riding their bikes when they noticed a man following them in a red Honda.

One of the girls said the man grabbed her.

"He just came out of nowhere.  I ran after he grabbed my wrist and said, 'Tag, you're it,'" said one of the girls.

The girl was able to get away.

"He had glasses.  He was real old.  His cheeks were squished in," said the girl.

The driver is described as a short, older white man with gray hair and glasses.

Investigators said the girls were able to get a partial license plate, GDG.

Anyone with information should call 911.
