CARRICK, Pa. — Fire investigators are trying to find out what started a blaze that killed a man in a Pittsburgh home over the weekend.
A passer-by reported smoke coming from the roof and attic windows of the two-story house in the Carrick neighborhood after just before 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
Fire chief Darryl Jones said the only occupant of the residence was found dead in the kitchen in the rear.
Neighbors tried to break into the house to reach him but were driven back by heat and smoke.
The name of the victim has not yet been released.
