PITTSBURGH — An overnight accident in Plum Borough killed one person, however the victim wasn’t discovered until morning police said.
Investigators said they were called to Saltsburg Road Friday morning after an employee at a nearby business discovered the crash and victim.
Police said the victim is in his 20s. An ongoing investigation indicates that the driver lost control as he was headed eastbound on Saltsburg Road. At some point, he overcorrected and flipped his Geo Tracker several times, landing in a repair shop driveway.
An employee of the repair shop found the accident when he arrived at work around 7 a.m. and called police.
Police don’t know what caused the driver to lose control.
Tony Prece, who works at a nearby business, said he thinks the accident happened on a dangerous stretch of road.
“There are always cars hitting the sign coming around that bend too fast,” Prece said.
Prece said he hopes to see changes to the road.
“They don’t have a guardrail there, and they come and hit the sign. The one that says, “Larry” busted in half. A lady went into the woods and down there,” Prece said.
