Car crashes into restaurant in Plum Borough

PLUM BOROUGH, Pa. — A car crashed into a restaurant in Plum Borough Wednesday, right before the dinner rush.

"We were in the kitchen working and then we heard a slam. I thought someone had crashed on New Texas Road because they drive down there pretty fast," said Don Winkie, owner of Eighty Acres Kitchen & Bar. "Came out here to look and somebody was in the restaurant. A car was in the restaurant."

Winkie said two women were in the car but were not injured.

"I think they just hit the gas pedal when they thought they were hitting the brake and came up over the curb and hit the building," said Winkie.

Despite damage to the building, the restaurant remained open.
