Carnegie Mellon senior excited to represent Pittsburgh in ‘Jeopardy!’ College Championship

A college student will be representing Pittsburgh Monday night in the “Jeopardy!” College Championship.

News anchor Jennifer Tomazic had the rare opportunity to go to the taping of the show in February.

She talked with Emma Farrell, a Carnegie Mellon senior, ahead of the game.

“I was super excited, and I called my mom and dad and they're like, ‘You're kidding right? You didn't actually make it,’” Farrell said.

Farrell said she watched a lot of “Jeopardy!” to prepare her for the college tournament. She’s also counting on some of her civil engineering and other education as well.

“I have an additional major in history, so hopefully history," she said. “I do read a lot so a little bit of literature as well.”

Farrell said the game of “Jeopardy!” has been on her radar since she was 4 years old.

You can watch her in the College Championship Monday night on Channel 11.
