RUFFS DALE, Pa. — A Westmoreland County cat rescue is offering a reward for information that leads to an arrest after a cat was found “intentionally” burned Wednesday evening.
Frankie’s Friends Cat Rescue said the cat was found in the driveway of someone’s home in Ruffs Dale. A woman drove to the home, picked up the cat, and then met with a team from Frankie’s to hand over the cat.
“Sadly, we believe this cat was burned intentionally and we are pleading for anyone with information to please contact us,” the rescue wrote on their Facebook post. “We are offering a reward in an attempt to get this poor baby justice. We have faith that with love and care that he can and will overcome this.”
The rescue said the cat has been given all necessary medications to help with infection and pain control.
The cat is said to have singed fur covered in soot, and his paw pads are also burned.
Anyone with information is asked to call the shelter at 724-889-7011. Those willing to assist with costs associated with the injured cat’s care is asked to donate via PayPal at frankiesfriendscatrescue@gmail.com or via Venmo. Their Venmo account is @frankies-friends, and the last four digits of their registered number is 7011.
